I watched the scene a bunch of times, came to the same conclusions, but the last Uruk seemed to be stiumbling as he got to Boromir, as if he tripped on bodies or slipped on blood... which is entirely plausible considering the carnage about...

You know, maybe because of the way the Elves' wrists have that peculiar bend they are able to give their arrows the extra punch needed to immediately take down an Uruk.
