I wasn't as anti-Elf before I saw the movie. The movie made them too snooty! Also, in the books the Elves laughed more and didn't seem to look down their noses at non-Elves. I agree with you about the Rivendell, Mirkwood, and Lorien Elves.

I see what you mean. After all, Elrond looked like a boy, Legolas looked, mostly, like a boy, but Haldir and his folk all looked like amazon women. ;^)
