That makes me a bit curious, I find it quite interesting that the majority of people here who find this much of an interest in Tolkien and all his works seem to be female. I would have thought that this genre would be a male dominated one.

BTW, I am not complaining, I am just making an observation. It actually encourages me, because I think it would be neat if I could get my wife as interested as I am. I think I already have my daughter hooked.

For me... the story is very romantic. In the movie, the Aragorn character is heroic, brave, honorable -- absolutely sexy!

The other reason I love the books is because the story is very well written... and as a not so good writer... I am always amazed at true genius.
