Well, try a fabric store. If you get a fabric that doesn't fray readily, you could cut out a basic cloak from the pattern and get away with not hemming or sewing on it. (Half-circle with the neck hole cut out) it just wouldn't have a hood. It would be like the pre-lothlorien cloaks, and they could be green gray or brown.

We ended up just going for black. I know it's not right, but you know the English teacher won't know the difference. We got a gold chain and a ring. And we went to Ben Franklin (craft store) and got some Christmas Ivy. It's green with silver on the trim. We'll cut off a leaf and safety pin in on for the clasp. I think we're in business.
