But, in all fairness, I liked RFK. I wouldn't have voted for him, but I liked him. And I liked JFK, too. Though my parents voted for Nixon. Well, I think Democrats were different then... They were still FOR America. I think the Cuban Missile crisis was a heck of a test for any president.
I don't even have to ask, I am sure my parents voted for Nixon... But I bet my grandparents voted for Kennedy.

You are right. Peggy Noonan was talking about the difference in the Democratic Party in the 60's & 70's and what we have now in the Senate. She said that in the 60's and 70's, the Democrats did what was right for the country. Now a days, they put party politics and their own political ambitions before country. She went on to say it will be the ruin of us. Sean Hannity amened that... Alan Colmes was speechless because he knew she was right.

That's for sure. Remember the "Solid South?" All conservative Democrats, still mad at the Republicans for reconstruction, 100 years later.
And there were very prominent liberal Republicans, like the Rockefellers and Mayor Lindsay of NYC.
