Yeah, it kind of stuns me that we have a whole political party that pushes a philosophy, that if imposed, would mean the destruction of the principles on which our country was founded.
I figure one of the purposes of our constitution is to prevent us from using "democracy" to vote all our rights away. 'Course if you figure it's a "living breathing" document, like the Democrats, you don't have to pay that much attention to it.

I must have got up on the wrong side of bed this am. More of us need to do that!

I brought that very thing up on another thread yesterday. A woman editorialist was bemoaning the "election" results in Flordia (STILL).
I said that the woman was a hypocrite. She wanted the Supreme Court to work for Al Gore but not for Dubya. She wanted to be able to rewrite the laws so that the Democrats could find 538 votes. She was screaming how the Repubicans shredded the Constitution and the Supreme Court selected the president, though she would have been more than pleased if the Supreme Court had selected Al Gore. Then the Constitution would have worked.
Those on the Left want to hide behind the Constitution when it suits them, but they abandon the moment it doesn't.
