Symbolic of the ring's nature or sound-fx mistake?

First of all...you mean for once I caught something the first time that someone else didn't?! (I'm still noticing details others saw the first time, but this was one thing I did notice!)

It's NOT a sound effects mistake, for sure. The ring also doesn't roll or spin - it just lands, hard. Very cool, and definitely symbolic.

Oh I miss a lot of things the first (and 21st...???) time around. Donner says it's true to the book. Makes sense to me. But it didn't stand out to me until last night.
