I have always thought that Tolkien was very likely snacking on Digestive biscuits when he was writing about lembas.

I posted something similar earlier, though partly as a joke, what with all the jokes about elves needing more fiber...

They are called Digestive Biscuits only because they are easy to digest...they remind me of a simple cookie like infants eat, only sweeter...like animal crackers, kinda...in flavor that is.

They are really quit good! A good basic kind of cookie, that tastes good with coffee or tea.
