Do you have a Lowe's or Home Depot near you? Any hardware store should be able to give you the advice you need. And as an added bonus they will be happy to sell you what you need. They're kind of like Dwarves that way.

Nope, but we do have a paint store. I refuse to ask questions in most of the local hardware stores...they specialize in treating women like dirt.

I just hate to ask for help because I'm not sure if the news will be good or bad! I guess I could also search on DIY sites on the web...haven't done that yet.

It just doesn't SEEM like it should be that difficult! I would think I could patch any big holes with spackle, smooth everything else down with sandpaper, put those papery patch thingies over and MAJOR holes, then prime and paint. But Corin was saying something about pin holes in drywall being a problem...I'm sure I have holes like that in some spots!
