Well, let me see...the guy goes to great lengths to complain about the film...he doesn't like it and certainly that's his perogative and his opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. I think it's in the complaining that I get irritated.
It came across (to me anyway) as arrogant and that people who differed from his opinion were obvious fools. RM's analogy fit, about the person complaining about the tiny seeds in the seedless watermelon. Almost like "You people are so stupid to call this watermelon seedless, that you need someone infinitely smarter than you to point out your obvious error".
It comes across as pompous and silly. And after having just been blessed out by an equally pompous and silly psychologist in my Sunday School class...it just rubs me wrong!
(You don't, of course..the "essay" does.)
