Believe it or not I am still chugging along on a 28.8 modem at home. I hope to updgrade to 56.6 within the next month or so. Then maybe DSL sometime after that.

If it is available where you are when you feel like upgrading, I would HIGHLY recommend cable. My download speed is a LOT higher than DSL, and in my area, it is cheaper. My upload speed is not a fast as DSL, but most folk don't need to SEND stuff quickly very often.
