Yeah, it was "Miz Hamner" that was my teacher. Actually, Schuyler, Va., where they live, is pretty mountainous, in a small sort of way. They are really hills, I guess, but almost too big and steep to be called hills.

But you're right that they are not really mountains. People in south Albemarle continue to refer to them as mountains though.

I'm thinking that the nearby Blue Ridge, which are legitimate mountains, are pretty much of a smaller range than the ones where you grew up. Are they the Alleghenies?
