Fiddler is a great show, I had the part of Lazar Wolf in our local civic theatre. That fool girl Teitel running off with that milkman, when there was a doting wealthy butcher available for the asking!

Fiddler is a great show...

We were supposed to do Fiddler when I was in college, but for numerous reasons it didn't happen. So I missed my chance to play Tevye (the Director had already pegged me for the part). Some 20 years later, I've never played Tevye.

But our church does huge theatrical productions at Christmas and Easter. So I comfort myself in the fact that, while I'll never be Tevye, I do get to play a singing Hebrew...
