I was thinking about it today, and I think I like the elves in the book much, MUCH better than the elves in the movie.

Definitely! The Elves in the book laugh more and seem genuinely concerned about the poor mortal folk being left behind in ME. In the book, Haldir and company are not snooty at all!

I can see your point. The elves in the book seem to be a lot more lighthearted. THen again, we also see a lot more of hte elves in the book. I.e. after the sighting of the dark riders, the hobbits meet up with a company of them. Just to name one. I'd have to reread to remember all of them, but I do have a different picture of them when I read, than what the movie portrays.
