Remember those folks who crashed a plane off Cat Cay a few years ago, and were in the water a couple days. Not all of them survived

So how many folks would survive in the water off of California for a couple of days without a wetsuit?

I'm supposing that in California or Massachusetts (in the summer, that is), survival time would be measured in hours, not days. I think in summer one might tolerate the water temperature for many days in the South Florida ocean.

In the incident I mentioned, the 2 younger guys (which included the pilot) did OK, 2 of the older folks died, and one guy around 60 needed his blood removed and warmed at Jackson, but got through it, barely.
