Hey! I just found out where Aragorn got the "Ten Thousand Strong" when Theoden asked him how many orcs there were in the TT preview on the DVD.

Merry is describing Orthanc opening up and all the orcs and half-orcs and wildmen leaving to go fight at Helm's Deep. He says "...all sorts together, there must have been ten thousand at the very least..."

I thought that number sounded familiar...
