Is that El Nino or El Nina that causes rain?...I can't keep them straight...personally, I don't think they make that much difference...just buzzwords for the weatherdudes...

I pay alot of attention to weather, as I'm sure you do also, though alot of the science behind it is beyond me.

I think, though, that El Nino is a real phenomenon with real effects. I just think that even in the recent past we did not know that it was the cause of those effects.

Read somewhere (FR maybe) that it's now being theorized that global warming causes the effects of El Nino to be even more severe than usual. Though there's probably not much we can do about global warming since it more than likely is not caused by us.
