Couldn't help but be reminded last night that the love story in FOTR is about a (gasp!) bi-racial relationship! ;-)

Of course some of us consider the fact that our spouses haven't seen FOTR to be signs of a "mixed" marriage...

Egad, no! THAT would be bad. Although I've got my own problems - my wife is by nature an animal person (horses, dogs, parrots, ferrets, fish, goats, rats, cats, pigs, chickens, turtles, snakes - we've had them all!) and I'm not. Mixed, indeed!

Rose has seen and enjoyed the movie... but I can't get her to read the books. She has a mental block against reading fantasy... loves science fiction, has never enjoyed fantasy, go figure.
