About the so-called "60's culture" angle. I've been thinking that maybe the mass-media phenomenon might have something to do with that attitude. Since everyone...okay....most everyone....ummm a lot of people....are so used to mass-produced music, films, tv-shows, etc. and since you need to appeal to most of the "target audience" in order to mass produce, it seems like anything that's "creative" or otherwise outside the mass production box must be a result of the 'shrooms, man.
