Agreed. I still think Jackson was robbed for the Adapted Screenplay Oscar. The screenplay was not only the best adapted screenplay of the year, it is the best I have seen in my life.
The winner, Beatiful Mind, was a rather routine pedestrian product, by comparison.

Jackson was indeed robbed. Perhaps he can find solace in knowing that Hobbits everywhere are breathlessly was for installment 2 and solace in the millions he is making and is going to continue to make. How many people are dying to see A Beautiful Mind 2?

Well, really, who would want to see A Beautiful Mind a second time. Once you understand the "thing", there is no reason to see it again. Kind of like knowing who the murderer is... no suspense, etc.

Peter Jackson has made one of the greatest films ever made... period. Fifty years from now, we will still be watching it while A Beautiful Mind will be an answer in Trivial Pursuit. That's why it should have won Best Picture. And that's why he should have won Best Director. I've seen the picture 8 times... and there is still always something new to see.

breathlessly was for installment 2 = breathlessly waiting for installment 2

Samwise Junior is talking to me. It's hard to listen, talk, read, and type at the same time.
