I mean... what did he say? - If he really asked her help to look for the puppy, that is stupid.

But did he really say that? - Or did he say "Hey - have you seen a little yellow dog this morning?"

And that said, when my children are with me, it is my job to teach them proper social interaction with strangers and people we know. So I often stand back and let them interact with people, redirecting as necessary. The hotdog incident showed me that Joshua had no qualms about going with someone he didn't know, just because he was friendly. The man was just being nice, but he shouldn't have said what he said. There are limitations to how intimate a stranger should be and I felt he crossed the line.

Here's the story.

I don't think the guy asked the girl to get in his car, but it says he asked her to help him find his puppy. He's new to the area...

I mean, he saw her in her front yard, pulled up and could have just innocently said "I've lost my dog. Have you seen him? Will you let me know if you have?"

My guess is it was the child's perception (perhaps rightly so) and I'm also assuming this guy didn't see the Mom coming out. I would have stayed and asked for her help to (unless she was packing heat like 2JM...)
