I have been talking to the world's biggest grump. I thought you weren't on the religion threads? ;-)
I saw your post #5 on the other thread. Good advice. I'm old, can I ditch the computer and enjoy the summer too?

Sorry for unloading a rant on everyone this fine morning. Don't apologize Kevin (but if your buying coffee...).
We need more rants like that. It's time we lived up to the "if your not for us, you're against us" statement and kicked some serious butt.
Let me call it. Screw with the U.S. and you're cockroach food.
(We watched Ocean's Eleven this weekend, along with Harry Potter on DVD)

I think there is a major difference in the enemy. Pearl Harbor was attacked by a definable government coming from a particular place. There was no question who we were fighting. This time around, we are being attacked by a nebulous enemy with no borders, no ID cards and no uniform. Who the enemy actually is, and the definition of victory, depends on who you ask, and there is no one person who can declare it to be over and surrender. We are fighting an ethos not a country.

Why HOTD, that sounds positively GandalfianYou like that? hehehe

How very un-PC of me, but it's the way I feel sometimes.

My daughter managed to cheer me up some, she bought me an early Father's Day present: the FoTR soundtrack. I'm listening right now at work ;^) (sounds like Sam may be drowning right about now, no wait! Frodo just reached down to save him, whew!)
My wife found the "bonus content" on the CD and thought it was really neat. She said she wants to get the TTT soundtrack as soon as it comes out. I think I've just about turned her into a Tolkienphile, the kids already are. ;^)
Well, back to my desk, talk to ya in a bit.

We use my son's Playstation 2 for a DVD player right now. But we have an old-vcr that he knocked off the shelf, so we plan to replace it with a DVD player for the family.
But I have to write a check for the siding today, so it won't happen anytime soon.
