The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads! Sounds good to me! It's what makes up the thread that matters to me - lots of chit chat and spoilers! ;)
I am not Guild material either and honestly, would never strive to be.

Look
here. You might have to scroll down a tad. The snow is just above us! The cold air is coming down and the precip is coming up and it's meeting right above Tulsa!

I like it. Works for me!
I wonder if we'll last a whole year in our nice new hole, or if we'll talk too much and have to start another one early? ;-)

I always wondered if that Dinty Moore was any good. Is it? And the Sweet Sue C-n-D?
To: HairOfTheDog
Eh.... the Guild would never take me. I can't cook, and I don't know when it is appropriate to wear pearls.I suppose anyone who is incapable of walking in heels would be out, too?
That rules me out!

I always liked them...the boys still like the C and D. I just got sick of it after Y2K and donated a cases of it to the battered women's center.

Well, for water, I do have a 55 gallon water barrel in the barn with potable water. About three day's worth for the horses, before I would be needing to load it in the truck and find more. Water would become a big problem for me. But my water barrel has a tap right on it... figured I would go fill it and leave it in the truck if the power was out a long time.

I think we would make it the whole year if there was no spam!... this one was started in March, though... after all the initial FoTR viewing and excited chatter.... but combined with the first thread, we are only 53,000 posts.

If you live close enough to the water table, you could use one of these:

I admit, we went a bit nuts, but it was a fun kind of nuts, you know? We had a great time anticipating all kinds of scenarios and preparing for them. I mean, how often do you even have to think of such things? It has kinda kept me on my toes ever since...we are rarely caught without extras now.

John, I don't have a clue what I am lookin' at!
I am on a well, the store's well. I don't know if his pump is able to be powered with his generator or not. His freezers and coolers are probably more of a priority!

I was laughing my way right through the whole thing. I couldn't imagine why the world would possibly come to an end because the date was wrong on some computers. I was not concerned in the slightest! I wish I was hanging out here then. I bet it was a riot!

Okay, I'm packed...

When are we moving?

I want to implode the threadBTW where is Thread Monitor LCS these days? Can he still be having 'puter problems?
To: Overtaxed
And where's G'nad???
To: HairOfTheDog
It is a sand point. They travel easily and can be driven into the ground without much equipment.
A submersible hand pump can pump water from greater depths without electricity.

BTW where is Thread Monitor LCS these days? I dunno. I've been concerned about LCS. Reckon he ain't coming back? Maybe ksen will check on him when he gets back to Florida.
2J I'm guessing g'nad is either just busy or out terrorizing the venison...
To: Corin Stormhands
g'nad is either just busy or out terrorizing the venison... Hmmmm......does terrorized venison taste differently than non-terrorized venison?
To: John Farson
We have a sand point waterwell. It's not deep enough to be safely potable, but we water our yard and garden with it. It has a pretty hefty pump on it...the first time we turned it on, we just had one sprinkler on it...one of those oscillating fan-like sprinklers. It shot the water WAY WAY over our house and was going ninety miles an hour! That's when we learned we had to hook 2-3 sprinklers to it.
