Hmm...Hair, did you ever think of signing Bay up for NaNoWriMo? Sounds like he has what it takes...
And hopefully I can dream up another plot by next year. Maybe something that does NOT involve just about all of the most sordid cheesy SF movie cliches.
I'm thinking of maybe populating a small town with a bunch of interesting characters (based on certain characters I know) and just seeing what happens.
At least my story didn't involve a hyperdrive that wouldn't work.
Hey...maybe next year I'll try for cheesy instead of crappy?
Yes. Always aim for improvement.
He sure does! Comes naturally for him!
I swear more comes out than goes in....
Analysis of the Helm's Deep Battle... Explains the battle both for folk like me who need help with battle scenes, and also for the guys who might dig this stuff.
Helm's Deep Battle Map

This may have slipped under the radar yesterday, but the NZ Herald also had fantastic PDF document depicting the layout of the battle of Helm's Deep to go with its article on Karl Urban. It's 4.4MB, and reminds me a lot what was in the Two Towers Visual Companion. [More] Spoilers! Get Acrobat PDF Reader.
;-)
It WOULD be fun in some ways to really TRY to write a cheesy novel. Encompass ALL the typical scenarios from EVERY decade (i.e. 50's everything was radioactive, 60's we were going to ruin the planet and hafta live underground...all the way through 90's DNA mutations and such like), all in one compact cheese-ball novel.
And be what...Princess of Crapdom???
I gotta get through this novel thing so I can get ON with my LIFE!
Maybe I'll use it to pass the time until next NaNoWriMo? Could be fun...no research, no trying to make anything realistic, no nothin'!
I have one more long chapter to write, and I'm stalling. Goofing around on the internet reading song lyrics. :-)
