That's what every hobbit says.Poor, naive creatures ;-)

Perhaps naive, but it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life!

Hello, just stopping by on my way to bed. I had an 11 hour work day, and then came home and watched
Planes Trains and Automobiles with my family. I am a bit starving since I didn't get dinner; Mom made soup, which I hate, and all the food in the house is destined for tomorrow.
We only got about two inches of snow, but everything looks very pretty. Tonight, the stars are shining brightly. I hope we are all about a bit tomorrow!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! I'll be gone for a few days, down in the Keys with family, will check in when I can. I hope we all have a lovely, happy holiday.
I love Thanksgiving!
To: HairOfTheDog
It is! There's a pecan pie, a pumpkin pie, a cheescake, a brocoli casserole, a bread of some sort, plus as yet uncooked potatoes, sweet potatoes, second vegetable, dinner rolls, turkey gravy, stuffing, and of course The Bird, a nice little 22-pound tom that we got free because of all the groceries we've bought.
Hopefully that will be enough for the family and Grandma.

Apple Pie!
To: JenB; HairOfTheDog
My Grandma used to make a pumpkin pie, an apple pie, and a chocolate pie for Thanksgiving. I used to have a slice of each, slathered in Cool Whip... mmmmmmm....
I'll let you have all the pecan pie, though, Jen... don't care for it myself! ;)

Good night everyone! - I will be around for the early morning.... If I don't see you I hope that all hive a nice thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Prayer
God, ev'ry year about this time,
according to routine,
I've bowed my head in the accepted way
and offered thanks, like some well synchronized machine
that prayed because it was the time to pray.
But, God, this year is different, this year I seem to feel
America's Thanksgiving is my own,
that in my nation's gratitude I have a part that's real,
a part that until now I've never known.
And, God, this year a deep humility has filled my heart,
a newborn pride rings true thruout my soul
because I do belong, because I have and am a part,
a tiny part of one tremendous whole.
I think I know the feeling of those first Americans
who said, "We must give thanks for this, our land."
I cherish now the rights that are each woman's, ev'ry man's,
the rights I've just begun to understand.
This year my heart has learned what all Thanksgiving Days are for,
true thankfulness at last I realize,
but, God, I'm sorry that it took the tragedy of war
in other lands to open up my eyes.
Again I bow my head but this time deep within me stirs
a mighty prayer, part of one vast design,
"God, help me make America as proud that I am hers
as I am proud, and grateful she is mine!"
Kathryn Kay, 1941 (See background about this poem I found on the web...)

Good Thanksgiving Morning to everyone! Time to start up the cooking again. I hope to check in later sometime today. So everyone enjoy T- day! And watch those tryptophans

Good morning! - I am up sipping coffee... Have a nice Thanksgiving OT!
To: HairOfTheDog
I intend to! I just passed 46000 words. I can finish it even if I don't write any more today. Yippee!
Guess I'd better get going now. I've got the turkey and they can't start without me. LOL
To: Overtaxed; HairOfTheDog
Morning you guys, I have to finish making this pumpkin pie, maybe go for a jog, then we are off to the Keys.
To: Overtaxed
Good job on the 46,000 words...I'm very impressed with you guys for writing novels, and quickly.
We have a friend who is writing the "Great American Novel," 'course he's been working on it for 30 years, now, about. Not expecting him to ever finish it. As much care as he's taking, I bet you guys' stuff is better.
