I remember seeing Helen Shaver (of Poltergeist: The Legacy) on Arsenio Hall, several years ago. She had once portrayed a lesbian in a movie. Arsenio go mixed up, and said to her "You're a lesbian, aren't you?". Helen couldn't correct him fast enough. You would have thought he had accused her of stealing. They broke for commercials. When they returned, she did some serious backtracking about how she answered his question. I think actors and actresses are scared how they speak of homosexuality.

I hadn't read LOTR until last year (immediately before the release of the movie). I read a book review of it on one of the online book sellers. One person brought it up that many people try to see a homo angle to their friendship and went on to state that reading the book clearly shows that this is not the case.

I can imagine. It was the same way in college...I was a drama major in college. For about a year. Since I didn't exactly fit in, I dropped out. Most drama drop-outs changed their majors to psych. I hated psych, so I just dropped out.

I think they do have to walk a careful line... Heck. I have to walk a careful line. My boss is gay. I think Elijah is a nice kid, who has done a pretty good job of responding to his sudden superspotlight, and has remained a nice kid. I don't know his politics, and I suspect they are not my own. But then none of my best friends share all my politics. 'cept you guys of course ;~D

Up until now, I was pleased to see that the speculation had not been brought up in the mainstream media. In fact, I was surprised that it hadn't been brought up. I don't watch any of the SNL-type shows so I don't know if it has been brought up in a skit/joke.

I haven't seen anything about it either. So far so good.

This special edition of Risk allows you to decide the fate of the people of Middle-earth. you will play either a Good or an Evil force trying to gain control of the land. Unite your forces in battle to ensure that Middle-earth falls into the right hands.
Note: This game features the first two parts of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, so it does not include Gondor or Mordor.
How does that work? - I guess it is basically a Saruman vs. everyone else.... Ksen.... You have played this haven't you?

I love the game Risk. Haven't played it for a while. LOTR Risk sounds like a great game! I can imagine it going like -- "Now you have to be the Orcs. No, I was Orcs last time!"
Just checking it to see if your thread is imploded yet.
Only a homosexual will see sex in the relationship of Sam and Frodo, and the elves too probably. They see sex in Winnie the Pooh and Tyger too, likely.

Sheeeesh...
That "community" certainly is obsessed with itself, isn't it?

...to make sure we haven't imploded! At the rate we're going, it will be at least two more months before we implode...

Yeah - If I keep killin' the thread!

Considering all of the LOTR news of the past few weeks, I have been surprised at how quiet it has been here!
It's a little troubling...

We are just restin' up! - We go in waves.
I am watching Gore on Larry King. Gore just said he was letting his hair down. Context wouldn't help.

RE: Elijah Woods swearing and using bad language.
My Dad swore alot all through my childhood. Mom was pretty good at it too.
Dad was one of the first guys to hit the beach at Normandy, then fought all the way to Germany. Mom finished college in 3 years so she could help with the war effort.
Both were very religious, but both were real hell raisers and loved life after surviving WWII.
In addition to their hell raising, they spent their lives doing their best to help others! My opinion is that God loves them, though they are gone, and lived within them.
I for one don't mind if EW doesn't have someone's strict definition of how to be religious. I think God believes in free will.

I saw that idea speculated on the other day here, and it made me curious. I personally hope it makes it to 50000, (that's four zeros, count 'em) and that I will be the winner. It will be a marvelous undertaking!
