Glad to hear your excellent family did well in tough times...

Snake,
Thanks for the tips! I'll try to work on my tendency to write without gumption. ;-) I don't know that I could live without parenthesis...I do think they should NEVER be used in a characters dialog. Isn't that a grammatical rule, even? I can't remember. But I'll be more careful not to overuse 'em!
Of course, some of what you've pointed out I can't do much about unless I get to rewriting, which I'm not sure I will. We'll see if I finish this challenge first...

Don't you think this is kinda neat?

Rosie I sent you a new version of your resume to look at.... We can tweek the style as much as you want! Got it - thanks! I like the color. Blue is my favorite. :-) I'll go through and fill in the blanks and do a little editing. Then I can show you where I've gone with it.

G'nad...I suppose this would be an OK time to tell you that the company where my brother works gives everyone the first Monday of rifle season off every year?
They take huntin' seriously up here...

I just thought it was a cool picture. I keep up with these guys on their webpage, since they are the ones we're sending the cards to. I figured since it was posted on their webpage, it was ok to post it here.
Did I tell you a lady Marine is coming to speak to the homeschoolers during our event? I'm hoping to bring in the media too.
If anyone on this thread would like the address...to send care packages or anything...I'd be happy to give it.
To: RosieCotton
Sounds pretty standard in areas where deer huntin' is almost a religion...
Is he goin'?... tell him I said g'luck...
To: 2Jedismom
You mentioned the WM Master Sergeant speaking... good luck with this project... I know when I was livin' like a pig, care packages were a God send...
To: g'nad
What kind of things did you like to get? I don't think homemade baked goods are a good idea anymore.
I usually send decks of cards, magazines, paperbacks (Tolkien of course), candy bars, VHS movies, and local newspapers. Any other suggestions? Small, and lots is best...so they can be shared.

Good morning!
Corin - first things first. I'm glad you're home safe and even happier to hear that things went well. Words are cheap during these times so let me just say that I continue to pray for you and your family. God bless all of you with peace, comfort and ease during this period of grief.
Now, I must say that sorry that I'm late but I was out getting the hair ripped off my face with boiling hot wax. FUN!!!
Now that I am beautiful again (ahem, no comments please) - I can get around to fixin a meal around here. I'm already hungry for lunch, so let's skip the breakfast today and get on with the real food!
I've prepared a platter with all sorts of cold cuts, cheeses, mushrooms, and fixings for hero sandwiches. Mayo, mustard, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, etc to the left. Drinks are to the right. Plenty of fresh bread: white, wheat, pumpernickel, french and cuban - take your pick. ENJOY!
