I agree with you Sam.
'Late one evening I came to the gate, like a great arch in the wall of rock; and it was strongly guarded. But the keepers of the gate were on the watch for me and told me that Saruman awaited me. I rode under the arch, and the gate closed silently behind me, and suddenly I was afraid, though I knew no reason for it. 'But I rode to the foot of Orthanc, and came to the stair of Saruman and there he met me and led me up to his high chamber. He wore a ring on his finger.'
And then Saruman says:
For you have come, and that was all the purpose of my message. And here you will stay, Gandalf the Grey, and rest from journeys. For I am Saruman the Wise, Saruman Ring-maker, Saruman of Many Colours!"He really was trying to immulate Sauron, wasn't he...!?
Smeagol is conquering Gollum if french toast and bacon are favored over fish!
Vinnie and Joey are making offers you can't refuse! LOL!
The Wood-elves tracked him first, an easy task for them, for his trail was still fresh then. Through Mirkwood and back again it led them, though they never caught him. The wood was full of the rumour of him, dreadful tales even among beasts and birds. The Woodmen said that there was some new terror abroad, a ghost that drank blood. It climbed trees to find nests; it crept into holes to find the young; it slipped through windows to find cradles.
I alwasy thought his treachery ran a lot deeper than just immulation. I'm under the impression that he meant to side with Sauron, then attempt to take over, thinking himself wiser and more powerful. He sent the Uruk-Hai to capture Frodo and the Ring. Would he have just turned it over to Sauron if he were successful? Doubtful...I think his plan all along was to get the ring for himself, so he could rule over all of Middle-Earth. Unfortunately, his ego got the best of him...to his own demise.
Very quiet. People are either busy or are discussing things on other threads.
I want to buy FoTR on DVD, but it seems like there are a number of different versions out there. Since I only want one copy, which would you suggest is the best to get?
I agree, they clearly have the craftsmanship...+ great ideas.
Will do...I was noticing that myself, but didn't do anything about it. I'm GOING to divide into chapters, but since the word counter would add chapter headings and I don't wanna have to do the math, I'm leaving them out for the moment.
Thanks for the compliments!
Or in Jen's case, a generous mixture of both! :-)
You guys are too kind!
In my case, anyway!
Good morning, everyone! Yay, it's Friday! (Though I guess that doesn't matter to me right now, come to think of it...)
I've got about an hour to kill and then I'm meeting some of my friends from work for lunch. And tonight is acoustic jam night - woo-hoo!
I THINK I've had a breakthrough where my story is concerned, though I need to think it through and it may mean I'll want to rewrite some small details of the first part if I ever do a rewrite. I think it will work, though. So I'm more positive today.

I would probably advise you, since you've held off this long, to hold off til Tuesday. Whoah, I suppose if I left it there you could take "til" to mean that you don't get it until Tuesday, and then you still don't get after Tuesday. Then you would have Perpetual FOTR-lessness. ;^)
Pick up the Special Edition, unless you are really wedded to a pure copy of the theatrical version.
