My ears are burning! ;)
Just so you guys know, I am lurking A LOT, and reading your posts, I just don't seem to have time to post much, but I am watching you'all. ;) Is that frightening?
We had a new "draft" internet policy come out at work that stated that we were not allowed to use internet access for "political activism." I figured even loading the FR page would be like me asking the powers that be to fire me...so much for even checking in during my lunch break! :(
BTW, I have picked out my "line party" costume....please don't laugh....it is here:

I'm doing the one on the right, but with the dark skirt rather than the plaid. It will be a big challenge to make, but I am looking forward to it. I figure I can say I'm one of Pippin's cousins, hence the Scottish theme.
Meanwhile, I am still searching for a decent wool or wool blend crepe or jersey for the cloak....having a heck of a time finding just the right color.

Yes, Penny1 also.
You know, speaking of RWRF, most Jewish people, rightly or wrongly, fear what they refer to as "the Religious Right." I don't like Falwell much myself... but clearly the religious folks be on this thread (definitely part of the right) are the finest people, I'm honored to be friends with them.
So once,....
Sorry, had to go outside for a minute, my dogs were harassing the mailman. I think when dogs "come of age," it's probably part of their conformation ceremony to vow to always chase mailmen and UPS trucks...
Anyway, once I got an e-mail from RWRF - my wife saw an e-mail from "rightwingreligiousfanatic," she had her finger on the delete key so fast...I nearly fell over laughing. I thought it was very funny.

Ack! I meant to ping you all on the above to say "hello!"
So HELLO EVERYONE! :) [waves]
To: Penny1
Wow! Pretty! Be sure and take a picture and post it! I am dying to see the pictures of you guys in costume.
To: 2Jedismom
Hehe, that's all the excuse I need to buy that digital camera I've been dying to get! ;)
To: 2Jedismom
I need to be getting to a bit of that hard cleaning soon too... but it is only 8:30. [sip]
There was a chance I was going to get to go on a trail ride today, the first since Bay's injury, and the last one of the year in the state forest, because the trails are closing for the winter. But I don't know now because I haven't heard from my friend that was gonna go with me.
So if that doesn't happen, I have housework to do, and some farm work too, when things thaw out this afternoon. It is really unseasonably cold. Been getting down to 20 at night, which is unusual for here, especially this early. I double-blanketed the horses the last two nights. I wish I had done that the first night. It is really cold, and their winter coats aren't really in yet.
To: Penny1
Yes, I think the dark skirt is a good choice, don't know that Anglo Saxons went in for plaid ;-)

We had a new "draft" internet policy come out at work that stated that we were not allowed to use internet access for "political activism." Yeah, they've got that phrase in our policy too. So who's doing activism? All I'm doing is reading and commenting on the news! :)
Anyway, nobody's said anything to me about it and they don't have the site blocked, and I just got a raise, so I'm not worried about it.
To: Penny1
Penny, another cheap and easy way to do it is to send your film (throw-away camera or whatever) to York Photo labs. For .99 they'll put your film online and you can link to them.
To: Penny1
Well Hullo Penny!
What a gorgeous costume! You will look lovely! I don't have it in me to be a real hobbit lass, I don't think. Perhaps a hobbit lass in riding and traveling attire. I wasn't gonna put a whole lot of effort into my costume except for the cloak... was going to find a suitable vest, and perhaps dark breeches and my hunt boots.
I am going shopping for my cloak fabric next weekend with my sewing friend. I hope we find something! My feeling is that it doesn't matter a whole lot what color, could be green, gray or even brown, and I will err towards a darker fabric than a lighter one.

my wife saw an e-mail from "rightwingreligiousfanatic," she had her finger on the delete key so fast...I nearly fell over laughing. I thought it was very funny. LOL! That is funny!
Have you gotten around to seeing Fiddler on the Roof yet?
To: HairOfTheDog
If I find good cloak material color, I will let you know...you would think in the BIG CITY I'd be able to find something good, but so far there's not much of the type of material I'm looking for in the stores...argh! There were lots of true greys, tweeds, etc., but nowhere near the type of grey we see in the movie. :( Let me know what you find next weekend.
I think your outfit will look great! It will probably fit the theme of the movie better than mine, lol.... You will be an adventurous hobbit-lass, the type that goes off on hobbity adventures with our heroes--that fits you quite well I think.
I still haven't ordered my leaf clasp. I hope I don't wait too long and wind up not having one!
Well, I am off to enjoy the COLD sunshine....everyone have a lovely day!

Nice going on the raise OT!
To: 2Jedismom
Yes, but I really, really want a digital camera...all I need is an excuse to go spend money...
I love toys, have I mentioned that lately? ;)
Speaking of digital cameras, does anyone have the Olympus D-550 digital camera? That's the one I'm thinking of getting...
To: Penny1
Mine is an Olympus Camedia D-340R. I love it. Very easy to use.
To: Penny1
Well, you can even upload images from your digital camera to your York account and link from it which is what I like! A York account is free. Anyone can get one.
To: Sam Cree
Nice going on the raise OT! Thanks! I think they want me to stick around long enough to finish a few projects. Especially since most, if not all, of the folks doing the same type of job as I also decided not to move to Kansas. I think they're going to have to train a lot of technical type people when they move. Hehehe
But then, I don't know what it's like to run a business.
To: Penny1
I haven't ordered my leaf clasp either, Better get on that - payday was yesterday! Spend while the money is good!
To: 2Jedismom
I have sure appreciated the York account... The linked pictures have been rock-solid. So glad you pointed me there!
Course Penny has Webspace....
To: HairOfTheDog; RosieCotton; Corin Stormhands
