Yes, this is just supposed to be a machine for Matthew's schoolwork (which I have already downloaded and programed for the next 180 days!) It needed to be fast and it needed to have internet access for the curriculum, but the fact that I can now relate to you guys better is really just the icing!

I am not completely lost...my first machine was a old 75mhz windows 95 pc. This is like a caddie!

Well, that is what your link says, and yes, RAM is pretty cheap these days, assuming, as is nearly certain, that there is room on the motherboard for it.
