Thanks Sam! You always say the nicest things and encourage me a lot. I think tearing apart the family would catastrophic for the kids. I would lay down my life for them any day...sticking with a grouchy spouse ought to be a (relative) cinch!

Our hard time came kind of in the middle, before and after have both been joy.

Our hard time came kind of in the middle, before and after have both been joy. Yeah, I'd say that for us too. Except that when the little one came along about 2 1/2 years ago, it sort of threw us into chaos. He was totally unexpected, because of my health issues we thought it was impossible. Then my wife got sick with the pregnancy, he came early, spent 6 weeks in the hospital, had acid reflux, asthma, etc. etc. and it threw our finances into chaos.
But we're finally (I think) on the other side of that. Things aren't perfect, but they're better.
But there was one point on our vacation last summer (2001) that I think we were both convinced it was over. We're in it for the long haul.
Heaven knows, I wouldn't dream of doing this again!

I would lay down my life for them any day...sticking with a grouchy spouse ought to be a (relative) cinch! My mom, (who unlike me, was very religious) used to often tell me that the reason we are on earth is to bring forth the next generation. I agree with her, having and raising the kids, together with the woman I love, has been a joy I never could have imagined and can't adequately describe now. The feelings inspire awe, really.

Yeah, I can imagine...my wife would almost like another baby, but we got that hound dog instead :-)
To: 2Jedismom
Yep, I know what you mean. Sir SuziQ and I are like that sometimes. He's disposed to the pessimistic side of things and I am not, and sometimes he just won't be cheered up until he decides to come out of it on his own! Oh well, we can only do what we can do and learn to live with it otherwise!

...but we got that hound dog instead... We made a mistake and got the dog first! If we'd known another kid was coming we would never have gotten a Lab. He's a great dog, but still...
To: carton253
Have you checked out the Dick Francis mysteries yet?I LOVE his books!!
To: carton253
I'll bring the SuzieQ's Thanks for the kind thoughts, but I think I can get there on my own. LOL!

Things will be ok for a while...months evenHave you noticed it happening more in the winter time? If so, check out 'Seasonal Affective Disorder'. It is a physical condition caused by a lack of sunlight. Makes folks grumpy!

I like Dick Francis pretty well also, had read one of his early one,
For Kicks, in high school or college, I forget which, it was my favorite, I think.
If you like mysteries, I think you'd like them, Hair, as they are usually set on horse farms. Dick Francis was a very successful jockey before he becam a very successful mystery writer. He writes with "humanity."

Going on vacation, getting a lab, or getting married? ;-)

...write about your dream job! ... I want my cat's job.
LOL! My brother in law always told my sister that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation, he wanted to come back as HER DOG! She always spoiled her little doggie, Pumpkin, rotten!

You never know if you've offended him or the elastic in his underwear is too tight."NOTHING goes right, when your underwear's tight"!
To: ksen
Bless your heart, the ladies discussed this to DEATH a while back. ;^)Hey, watch it, Bud, or you won't be getting ANY lembas. LOL!
To: 2Jedismom
The kids think I'm the funniest mom and they laugh a lot. My goal is to keep it that way. That IS the most important thing!
I sent our #2 son a funny e-mail I had gotten yesterday. When he wrote back, he told me that his girlfriend thinks I'm a cool Mom. I was flattered!

I hope it helps for me to share. I hope for the best for you. Your kids will be fine, because you both love them. They will be wise to it.... They'll know what made you both tick, and they will have picked up enough from both of you to know how to be.
I guess, help your kids have a healthy perspective on it. Look for signs that one of them is becoming that sweeper that worries too much about it, and try to lighten the load.
And I suppose, react to it in a healthy way for your own sake. You deserve happiness too for your work making the kids and hubby happy.
I don't think I realized I was becoming like my father until I had a relationship that wasn't going the way I wanted and I began to sulk when I was at my worst. It is a powerful thing, sulking. And it is a way of controlling other people and making them cater to you that is stronger than words. My brother called me on it, I think, and a friend who knows my Dad. And made me admit that was why I was doing it. I was young enough to be cured, because they called me on it, and maybe because I am that blend of Mom and Dad that lets me see both sides.
Heh. Self-analysis dose for the day!
I have to go.... late meeting today out of town.
See you all later when I get back!
