I must have got up on the wrong side of bed this am.

The cat was on the right side of the bed.

I brought that very thing up on another thread yesterday. A woman editorialist was bemoaning the "election" results in Flordia (STILL).

I said that the woman was a hypocrite. She wanted the Supreme Court to work for Al Gore but not for Dubya. She wanted to be able to rewrite the laws so that the Democrats could find 538 votes. She was screaming how the Repubicans shredded the Constitution and the Supreme Court selected the president, though she would have been more than pleased if the Supreme Court had selected Al Gore. Then the Constitution would have worked.

Those on the Left want to hide behind the Constitution when it suits them, but they abandon the moment it doesn't.

But, in all fairness, I liked RFK. I wouldn't have voted for him, but I liked him. And I liked JFK, too. Though my parents voted for Nixon.

Well, I think Democrats were different then... They were still FOR America. I think the Cuban Missile crisis was a heck of a test for any president.

I don't even have to ask, I am sure my parents voted for Nixon... But I bet my grandparents voted for Kennedy.

Let's see... for me the Bootsman was at the foot of the bed sacked out, and Scouty Girl was sitting by my head staring at me (she was hungry). So, both were in the bed with me this morning.

I have a fishing buddy, a retired college professor, who comes right out and says that he's a socialist. In the next breath he'll be talking about how much he believes in the Constitution and the Bill of rights.

It makes me think, "man, I don't believe you're thinking all this stuff through..."

You are right. Peggy Noonan was talking about the difference in the Democratic Party in the 60's & 70's and what we have now in the Senate. She said that in the 60's and 70's, the Democrats did what was right for the country. Now a days, they put party politics and their own political ambitions before country. She went on to say it will be the ruin of us. Sean Hannity amened that... Alan Colmes was speechless because he knew she was right.

Wasn't it Reagan that said "I didn't leave the party, the party left me?"

It makes me think, "man, I don't believe you're thinking all this stuff through..."

Next time say it too him... it's fun to get in a discussion (as long as it stays civil) because they lack the facts to back up their feelings.

In Comp I, we debated the death penalty. Then we had to write an essay critiquing our performance. The point I made was that the "con" side didn't have facts, they had feelings. And statements like "How would you feel.." and "it's not fair..." aren't debating points. And once the argument became about whether it was fair or not, the subject changed and now the "pro" side was having to defend itself from charges like "would you kill a mother for slapping a mother." I told the person who said that that was the stupidest thing I had ever heard and what did that have to do with price of tea in China?
