so perhaps a more complex version of that?Kind of! Different too, in that you can set up competing civilizations that you can ally with or go to war with.
I used to love SimCity 2000... the version that came after that (3000?) didn't appeal to me though.

I am considering making Joshua some cookies. Simple ones, with no nuts or chocolate or anything that might tear up his stomach...what do you think of these? They sound like they'd freeze well..
LEMON SUGAR COOKIES
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 whole egg
1 egg, separated
3 tbsp. lemon juice
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. water
Colored sugar
Cream butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt until fluffy. Beat in whole egg, egg yolk, and lemon juice. Stir in flour until well blended. Divide dough in fourths and wrap each airtight. Chill overnight. On lightly floured surface, roll out each portion of dough to 1/8 inch thick. With floured small holiday cookie or doughnut cutters, cut in desired shapes. Re-roll scraps.
Place 1/2 inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Brush with egg white (beaten slightly and a little water added) and sprinkle top with colored sugar until golden. Bake at 250 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes 96-120.

Go hang your head in shame!....

Yes, I think there was one called Moria... also Rogue, and Larn (which is the one we played). Our PC was advanced, we had a 20 MB hard drive!

There, there... RWRF... don't be sad.
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
LOL! OK - You can stop being ashamed now.

Those sound really good...except, "sprinkle top with colored sugar until golden"? "Bake at 250 degrees"? I'm confused!
I think I'll steal the recipe just the same...;-)

The later versions of computer Risk (Risk II, I think?) aren't quite so deterministic!
My favorite strategy was to start in Australia and expand into Asia, too. If Australia wasn't available, I'd go for South America and try the same basic strategy, either expanding into North American or Africa....

I'll have to remember that. Risk feeds my primal need to conquer and rule. But to loose 65 armies to 1 was a bit much.

It doesn't matter how cheesy the plot is if you can make the reader care about the characters. :)

OK - You may or may not know that I am not much of a cook, but I am really proud of myself.
You guys have probably all done scrambled eggs in the microwave and how they are nice and fluffy they come out. Well, I whipped up some eggs with ham and olives and mushrooms and things... and poured them in this heart-shaped bowl I have. I wiped the bowl with butter before-hand so it wouldn't stick and it popped out on the plate shaped like a perfect heart! - I wish I had a man to cook breakfast for now.

But to loose 65 armies to 1 was a bit much.I agree! I wouldn't play that game again either if that had happened to me.

Was it this week that the LOTR Risk game is coming out? Somehow Oct 11 comes to mind, but I'm not sure that's right...

I wish I had a man to cook breakfast for now.So do I, Hair, so do I.
Besides brothers, that is...they don't count!
To: RMDupree
I'm on to you dwarf! Apprarently you're a poor judge of character.
To: ksen
"I also understand that there is going to be a LoTR version of Risk released pretty soon."
It's already out on New Line Cinema's web site. $34.95 + s&h.
Mine's already on order.
To: RosieCotton
Oh yeah...I didn't even pay any attention to that part. I would have baked them at 325 (because my oven bakes hot). I don't know what they were thinking! LOL

October 11th is the day that Glorfindel drove the Riders off of the Bridge of Mitheithel.

But if the homicidal maniacs are in disguise, how will we know who they are? Nametags.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm proud of you too! Like I say, you could whip up a thing of chocolate chip cookies, roll them into balls and freeze them, then take them out and bake them in a toaster oven a few at a time. Mmmm Fresh hot cookies whenever you like!
