always acerbic and irascible. In fact, none of the Elves ever laughs or really smiles, though their race is supposedly renowned for merriment and singing."Priceless! That's it exactly. Like Corin says, he looks like he needed more fiber.....

In fact, at entmoot I will be surprised if your beard isn't braided. You may have a harder time dealing with the fact that I'm 6'2" and don't have a Southwest Airlines standard size backside...
I guess for me...dwarvishness is a state of mind...
Don't tell the troll...

it's taking on PETA... I can meet you in Norfolk and we can throw luncheon meat at their headquarters...

I'll have to watch the movie again now that I've read the article, and get back to you. Gee, darn! ;)

I agree with you about PJ's Aragorn, Hair. He may have doubts and may fear his reaction to the Ring based on Isildur's weakness, but he knows he will be King.
At the council of Elrond when Legolas is telling Boromir who Strider is, you see Strider lift his chin up like he's saying, "Yeah, I'm the heir to the throne, what're you gonna do about it?"
The only place where I see Aragorn "doubt" his Kingly destination is when he and Boromir are talking in Lothlorien. Boromir ends his "called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets" speech and tells Aragorn that they will both enter Minas Tirith in triumph. I think the look on Aragorn's face kind of betrays his doubting that will happen. My wife says Aragorn is probably thinking, "Yeah right bub, when we enter Minas Tirith I will be King, I won't just be tagging along with you."

Do you think we should force our friends here in the Hole to read our works in progress? Even I wouldn't do that to an elf!

I think a murder-mystery with analytical scientists and PETA barbeque victims would be cool! Ooohh, especially if it's a "Fried Green Tomatoes" kind of barbeque...

GMTA...see my 32435 ;^)

Hehehe. We can just set it up so if they choose they may read... you don't think it'll deteriorate into that "Bulwer-Lytton Contest" kind of writing?

I really wanted to be a wizard but thought that would sound pretentious...

Do you think we should force our friends here in the Hole to read our works in progress? I don't know about in progress. That would make it too tempting to want to edit and I don't think we'll have time. But maybe afterwards. I'm game if you are.

He is definitely questioning his kingly... I think it is only about the ring... and foreshadows the end scene where he passes the test with Frodo. I don't see him questioning that he will be king (which in the movie we don't know yet), only whether he will not fall to evil on his way there, whether he will try to use the ring.
In the book I think Aragorn is whiny at Bree... I just can't stand this line in the book: "But I must admit,' he added with a queer laugh, 'that I hoped you would take to me for my own sake. A hunted man sometimes wearies of distrust and longs for friendship. But there, I believe my looks are against me.'"
Aragorn needs a hug!

I was thinking, set up something so every day we release what we've done - no editing allowed, and no constructive criticism accepted until December. Once I have a website... don't know when that will be... it would be hilarious, trust me, to have other people reading our "work".

You may have a harder time dealing with the fact that I'm 6'2"You're shrinking! Last time you told us you were 6'3"........ hmmmmmm, turning into a dwarf are you, Master Corin?

Is it just me or does anyone else just shake their head at the fact that the two active threads in The Smokey Backroom are titled "Finding Peace," and "The Eucharist of Jesus Christ"... For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools...Romans 1:21-22
but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong...1 Corinthians 1:27

I guess I'm just gonna have to watch the movie again this weekend...
I hope Corin Jr. has been good so I can hook the Playstation back up....
To: JenB; Corin Stormhands
BTW is it supposed to be a rough draft or polished 50,000 words?
To: JenB
That could work. I'm working on my website stuff anyway. I could do that.
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
Last time you told us you were 6'3"........ I need to get back to the chiropractor...(it's between 6'2" and 6'3")
