We're only an hour from Providence! I have an aunt and uncle who live there.
Oops! I spoke too soon, didn't I? Whereabouts in RI do you folks live? I spent some time in Wakefield and Warwick during high school. Still miss the ocean...sigh!
Man has been trying to find improved ways of traveling since the first road was made, and I will not mock their efforts by walking when I can ride!
Bay and I will perhaps carry the lunches...
Our daughter is a Tolkien geek, too! She loves reading the Hobbit Hole! I usually have to chase her off my computer when I want to catch up in the evenings. During the day she's doing her homeschool thing, but she'll sneak on sometimes at lunchtime!
My younger siblings (also homeschooled) are WAY into LOTR - drives my Dad nuts, as I've said before! I occasionally show them some posts here at the Hole.
Tell her to say "hello" when she is here so Rosie and OT can behave themselves....
I think Bay would find it tough going! The Flume is a gorge created by the movement of the glaciers through here a few years ago. You can hike up to the trailhead or take a quick bus ride. From there you go up a trail to the gorge. There are steps built onto the sides of the gorge, and you go up those steps alongside the waterfalls. When you reach the top of the steps, you follow the trail up to the highest point from which you can see some of the mountains around the area, then it's back down the trail to the Main building. The whole hike takes about 2 hours if you're just walking and not stopping. We are usually there at least 3 hours because we stop to look at the falls, the trees, the deep pool, the overlooks, to rest, etc. You don't need any special hiking equipment. We usually just wear our sneakers; something to keep from slipping on damp steps, etc.
Well...she's SORT of Northeastern..that's not New England, though...
Hey! Speak for yourself!
How many times have you engaged in spam-sneak attacks today? Hmm?
I think this hobbit hole is available... In good condition
The garden verge could use a trimming, but I think the neighbors would be happy to help if you buy the beer!
Nah, y'all are fine. She's seen a lot stranger things on the anime sites on which she chats, though, thankfully, they are not bad either!
