I would challenge you to look that good after 3400 years!

Pints and lembas anyone?
To: RosieCotton
I don't think she bakes either... that's what Haldir and the minions are for.

To: Corin Stormhands
That is NOT Lembas!
Smart aleck dwarf...I thought he said he was going to go take a nap?

Or maybe he's realllly good at French cooking?
To: RosieCotton
I bet he makes a very goode soufle.
To: HairOfTheDog
"Here, have a cookie... I promise when you finish eating it you'll be feeling right as rain."
Non-FOTR Movie quote!
To: HairOfTheDog
Can you imagine having him as a waiter in some Lothlorian bistro? Horrors!

Matrix?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
hmmmm... I can't place the quote.... But it is most definately a British film....

Are ya gonna tell us?

Are ya gonna tell us?Gosh, impatient, aren't you? ;) Rosie was right, it's from The Matrix... the Oracle is talking to Neo in her kitchen and offers him a cookie.
The significance of offering someone a "cookie" while immersed in a virtual reality environment is cause for endless speculation among fans of the movie....
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; RosieCotton
I agree with Rosie. It's from
The Matrix. Where Neo is visiting the Oracle. He has just been told that either he or Morpheus was going to die, and it was up to him to decide which one.
The Oracle gives Neo a cookie just before he heads out de door.

Being a fundamentalist I was prepared to really dislike The Matrix due to people connecting it with Columbine and all. But I can honestly say it is now one of my favorite movies. Neo is definitely a Christ-like figure in that story.
I may have to rent it again, shoot, I may have to buy it.

Bingo!
By the way, if you parse the Oracle's talk with Neo (Clinton-style) she never tells Neo that he's not The One.

Or maybe he's realllly good at French cooking? Well, you know...Elrond saying "the ring can't stay here, we can't defend it" really was sort of a French surrender type moment.
Dontcha think?
L'anneau ne peut pas rester ici, Gandalf.
To: HairOfTheDog
Not as impatient as this womanAnd I'm glad for that! ;)
To: ksen
It was one of the two movies we purchased at the time we bought our DVD player. It's one of my all-time favorite movies, also. And you're right, Neo definitely had Christ-like overtones to his character.
