Well, before I go...
To: HairOfTheDog
I was going to replace the Balas with smaller fish, like a big school of neons. I guess I should buy one Bala too. Can you have them in the same tank? Or are you talking two tanks?
To: HairOfTheDog
My wife was driving home the other night and saw a sign (with a picture) for a missing turtle.
We were wondering how he got away....
"He was just too fast for us!"
To: Corin Stormhands
No - same tank. The Balas are big (the surviving one is a good seven inches) but they are vegetarians. They won't bother other fish... they aren't even aggressive like angelfish are.

LOL! - He just "took off!"

Hey Hullo! - What are you up to 2J? Did you read about all the Extended DVD stuff on the other thread?
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes I did! Very exciting.
Just up checking my email and latest posts one last time. I had a great day today.
Matthew got a sticker from a little vending machine the other day that said "Road Kill". Can you believe they put something like that in a kids vending machine? Very disturbing, and I wondered how on earth I would get it away from him. Well, here's what happened.
Friday, Matt took a major math test and made a bunch of goofy mistakes. I made him take an alternate test and he did good (94) so I took that test and filed it away, and then I took that "Road Kill" sticker and put it on his goofy test! LOL He loved it and it took some of the sting away that he had to re-take a test.
The thing he goofed up on, even on this test today was simple place value!! I could have died because he knows it so well, he just spaced it out. So today he started a new section of math and it was two solid pages of place value! I was delighted and said "Look! Just what you need! Some place value review!" and he threw his arms around my neck and said "It's a blessing from the Lord!"
I have been smiling all day about that.

It doesn't get any cuter than that! What a sweet kid!
Good night 2J!

Did you have thoughts about entmoot? - Or were you just making sure we had not made a plan without telling you?No thoughts other than it sounds like fun. Just wondering if it had progressed any.
To: 2Jedismom
LOL!! What a cute story. I'll have to pass that along to my parents (they are both math teachers). I'm ashamed to admit, though, that I don't remember what "place value" is. (Don't tell on me)
To: ecurbh

We need to start decidin' soon...
To: Corin Stormhands
Did you say high heels? OUCH! How could anyone WALK in those things?

"He was just too fast for us!"LOL!! Those folks ought to look under the bushes around their house. Seriesly!(I couldn't resist)!
On the day we were giving our turtle to another homeschooling family, we had him in the front yard having a walk while we were waiting for them. . I took my eyes off him for a few minutes, then couldn't find him! We looked all over the front yard and were just amazed that he'd gotten away. Then I looked under a bush by the house, and there he was. He had worked himself into the branches at the base of the bush! It was an exciting few minutes, let me tell you!

Where was he on 9/11? Counting votes in Floriduh.
Good Morning!

I agree wtih Bear about the "Hobbitiness" of your attractive little place.
To: RosieCotton
That's funny, we have a dog named Fiona also, Fiona McCumhail, she's a pretty hound dog mix that we found in the woods about a year ago, in a whole litter that had been tossed out of a car and abandoned.

That's a great picture...I am very glad to start seeing what some of us actually look like.
