Good evening Mr. osagebowman, Bear, Corin!
I am back from my dinner... got the friend's choices squared away, had a good steak, and broke in a new waitress who was having a very hard night at the tavern. Poor gal.
Corin, you don't think I could handle those shoes? [hands on hips!]
Anyone still up around here?
To: HairOfTheDog
OK - Good night everyone! Here our a night light, talk to you all tomorrow.

I'm just checkin' in -- and about to head for bed, for that matter. Nice dull day. More than anything else, it pretty much says that Osama's residing with Morgoth and Sauron right now.

Gads, no, Sam, I'm no Macster! To paraphrase Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman, I wouldn't touch a Mac to scratch it!
But that 23" screen is durn fine, ain't it???
I've been working with Microsoft since some so-and-so surreptitiously set a Zenith Z-120 on my desk back in 1984 or 1985 with a note that read "Fix this, please?" I used to prefer NetScape to IE ... but I have to use IE now, and it's not so bad. It's the Bear who has gotten all stubborn.
< sliding into Granny Rose mode, leaning back in my rocking desk chair, lighting my corncob pipe to scandalize the children >

For the children present who don't know what a Z-120 is, it's the one with the screen on it. Yes, children, it was a monochrome screen, and those are full-height, 5.25" drives that held 360K (that's kilobytes) of information. However, the one I had had been specially modified, and had a < fan yourself now, children > 5 megabyte Winchester drive! < slapping knee and cackling > Hoooowee! The Air Force thought these critters were pretty cool, back in the day!
The idiot who snuck this behemoth on my desk had loaded WordStar, Lotus 1-2-3, and dBase on the hard drive, all in the root directory. It was running a version of DOS that would only allow 256 files in the root. By the time I discovered this, I was, most reluctantly, hooked.

I seem to remember the mediots remarking that it looked like he didn't care because he didn't react. Yes, they wanted their boy Bill there. Aside from everything else, just imagine if he was still President on that terrible day, his self-indulgent emotionalism as he 'felt your pain'!
Shudder!
Sorry I missed the day with you, I got wiped out on the all night Florida Democrat primary thread. See you folks later.

Good morning, All.
Will be out most of the morning. My office internet is not working, maybe I can get if fixed today.
If any of you guys has an ISP that they really like, I'm looking for recommendations.
If I picked a screen name from LOTR, am not sure which might fit...don't know that I feel much like a grand hero, like Aragorn, Boromir or say Elrond or even Sam (who is alot more practical than me). I guess we all hope though, that, like the hobbits, we could find it in us to make a good choice when confronted by danger and evil.

Good morning Sam. Good morning All.

Okay, so I may be hearing things, but on my way into work this morning, I was listening to the local talk radio station (and I keep it on in the office). The fill-in host this morning was talking to Ann Compton of ABC about the day yesterday and today, traveling with the President (she was also with him last 9/11 I believe).
She was talking about his remarks to the UN today and how he plans to note the UN resolutions that Saddam has ignored. She said something like this "the UN has been passing resolutions dealing with Saddam for a decade now."
But as she said that, there was a radio "burp" and what I heard was, "the UN has been passing resolutions dealing with Saddam for a decade (for centuries) now..."
Either I need more coffee or somebody is messing with my mind...or both...
To: JenB
Very nice Jen, very nice. Thanks.

Koffi is listing things that need attention before an attack on Iraq:
1.) Israeli/Palestinian conflict (rebuking Israel, of course):
2.) Weapons inspections in Iraq:
3.) Afghanistan (America's fault for letting Afghanistan slide into poverty and become a breeding ground for terrorists):
4.) India/Pakistan.

Good morning everyone...
Totally media deprived in cube-land here, so if Pres. Bush says anything earth-shattering, please let this Beorning know.
Otherwise, have a good day all!

Good morning, everyone. Actually, I've been around for awhile but hadn't gotten around to posting. Just got out of a meeting, and I gotta run find a live thread on Bush's speech or a radio feed...
