Anyone notice that I forgot to do the next section for the Green Dragon Yesterday?

Yes, I noticed...thought it might have gotten lost amidst all the pints!

I am afraid.

Sibling rivalry?

No not sibling rivalry at all! - I am afraid that buried within my personality is a previously un-found character flaw which makes me Boromir. I know it can't be. I know it can't.

I have let my ponies out in the yard to mow the grass... They think it is a treat. They can look in my windows.

That would be so fun! I would have to promise not to recite lines, though, that will be a challenge...

Hello All, i got my natural keyboard and can type now. Just in case you forgot me, i am htur_75's hubby. Here is something i found, a little test: Are you obsessive too? Based upon our own experience, we have made a list of ways to tell if you have become a over-obsessed fan of 'The Lord of the Rings' 'The Lord of the Rings' is the only thing that really makes sense to you. Everyone around you seems to resemble a Middle-earth species. You really do believe that Middle-earth is a place. You find yourself regularly looking in a mirror just to see if your ears have become more Elf-like. After all, the mirror shows many things, things that were, things that are and things that have not yet come to pass! You have replaced chocolate with Lembas (Elf-cake). You are growing pipe-weed in your back garden. When in the car you tell the driver to 'watch out for the Black Riders' and 'sound the Horn of Gondor'. Words like 'alas' and 'hither' have become a regular part of your vocabulary! You have no rings because they have all been thrown into the fire to check for markings! You fancy an Elf. 'Concerning Hobbits' is your favourite song.

I got the coneys!! What an adventure! You know I'm the girl with a thousand stories and here's another one for you!

First, I called Wild Oats Natural Foods and they had frozen rabbit for $4.99 a pound. Whew! So I got online and found a local meat rabbit producer that sells to a distributor. I called them and found out they were about an hour away...a nice drive out in the country. My husband was willing to take me, so we packed the boys in car and drove way out in the country. It was just beautiful...the sky had huge dark blue clouds hanging in it from the departing storm, but the sun was shining.

Finally we got to the farm and there's this huge barn on the premises. We go in there and the boys went crazy! It was filled with bunny cages! A young lady took the boys and showed them tiny little newborn bunnies, while my husband followed a man down one aisle with a pet carrier. Very discreetly the man selected two "fryers" and they went out to the other side of the barn. My boys didn't even realize Daddy was gone for a while. I stood off to the side and kept an eye on everyone, so my boys woudn't hurt themselves or a rabbit and so if my husband fainted (which he has a history of doing on occassion), I'd be there to go haul him up! :-) I couldn't see much, but the man apparently taught my husband how to butcher the rabbit, and my husband was dressing the second one. We left with two dressed fresh rabbits (which we iced down on the way home) that cost $10 total for approximately 7-8lbs of rabbit.

When we got home, my husband and I cleaned the rabbit up really well and cut it into pieces, all ready to be stewed with herbs tomorrow! The herbs I'm going to use are the ones Sam asks Gollum to get.

" 'A few bay-leaves, some thyme and sage, will do--before the water boils,' said Sam. "

2J - I just don't think I would ever be able to do that... - not if I visited the bunnies first!

LOL I've got a long way to go before I replace chocolate with lembas and I could grow pipe-weed in my back garden...it's curing it properly that's the problem!

Yeah, me too, but furry cuteness does play a part in which things make me hungry. And skinned rabbits just look a little too much like cats. Enjoy!

Wow, I never even thought about that! No kidding! I've been eating rabbit all my life. We had a restaraunt where I grew up that served it just like a Kentucky Fried Chicken place! The only thing that bothered me about getting my own fresh rabbit was that the guy didn't let me or my husband pick it out, he selected it and I thought he ought to have let us feel of it first to see if it was plump enough, or give us a selection to choose from.

I did appreciate the way they handled it in front of the kids, although my eldest son figured out what dad was doing and said "Are we going to have rabbit?" I said "Yes, tomorrow." and he said "MMMMM!"

Interestingly enough (maybe) My dad got a bear once, and when it was hanging in the garage skinned, it looked exactly like a human. My mom told me it gave her the creeps. I was too young to remember it.

All this carnivore stuff is grossing me out! Why don't you guys get your meat at the grocery store where God put it! (Some Captain of Gondor I am!)

hahahaha - I agree with you... I am a meat eater, but I like to have it already cut into unrecognizable shapes when I bring it home.

LOL! Well, the rabbit is unrecognizable now and if it turns out ok tomorrow, maybe someday we'll all get together and have a dinner. OT is going to try to make a seedcake!

Then again, maybe we could just all go out to TGI Friday's or something?! ;-)
