I wanna go home with the Armadilla
Good country music from Amarilla and Abilene
The prettiest women and the friendliest people you've ever seen.

Should I catch up on the hundreds of posts I missed? I'm very concerned about what I'll miss while I'm gone next week. My brother's house on the Outer Banks doesn't have Internet access...it'll be like Outward Bound...

Now they are laughing about me bein' a chick.... Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Had bought books 2,3 and 4 together, so I didn't have to be left hanging (like we are with RR Martin).
Now I'm going to give The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by Shirer a try. My sister in law sent me a copy of Out of Africa, has anyone read that or have opinions? Also have laid in a copy of To Say Nothing of the Dog, by Willis.

hehehehe - He initially quoted me as a HE, and I corrected him in the thread.... So he retracted.... That's all!
To: Sam Cree
Let me know how you feel about To Say Nothing of the Dog. If you don't agree it's a great, funny, literary novel, I'll have to - no, just kidding, but I think you'll like it...

It were an Arm-Uh-Dill-Uh! We use them in chili in Texas!
They are also carriers of Hanson's disease.
Do you know why they had to stop the Hanson's disease Hockey game? There was a face-off in the corner!

That was a good, thoughtful post, worthy of quoting. I think you put your finger on something that's been turning me off to the "news" side of FR recently... too much shouting and name-calling, and not enough thoughtful debate.

There was a face-off in the corner!Elf bashing, Boromir bashing, now leper bashing?

Here's my reading list for the beach...
Finish re-reading ROTK (may have that done before we leave).
Bias, Bernard Goldberg
A Wrinkle in Time, Madeleine L'Engle
The Years of Lyndon Johnson: Master of the Senate, Robert Caro
The Well-Fed Writer, Peter Bowerman
I was gonna pick up Desecration because I love discussing Jen's favorite Left Behind series. But I thought I had enough already...

What, no Slander, by Ann Coulter?

Hi! I just got the boys bathed. Our little one just cried himself into an asthma attack. Mom went to the store, so I put him to bed. He was almost asleep 'til she got home. He heard her and started crying for her. By the time I got there to console him, he was having a hard time breathing. She just finished the nebulizer.
With the way our weather's been, we should've seen it coming and done the nebulizer earlier. He's been cranky all day. That was probably it.

What, no Slander, by Ann Coulter? I don't buy hardback books (unless I get a great discount), and Slander was checked out already. But I did look.

Good post, I was going to suggest that it was a guy thing, but a few of the worst offenders seem not to be guys.

Women can fight meaner sometimes. That is for sure.

"He initially quoted me as a HE, and I corrected him in the thread"
It took me awhile to think that one through when I was still lurking. But some of the images you posted eventually caused me to figure it out.

Thanks to your conversations about reading material, I am revisiting Cord's "Ender" and Busby's "Rebel" series.
Having a little trouble finding books I don't have in my boxes of paperbacks and west TN libraries don't have large Sci-Fi selections.
Have either of you come across a good second hand paperback book source on the net?

I know, it is easy to assume from my name!
Was it the gushing over Aragorn that convinced you? - or Frodo?
The first word of my profile is "Female" now on purpose... But folk have to be curious or lost enough to click that!

Poor little one! I can't stand it when mine are sick. I'll hear them in there with their rattly breathing or stuffy noses and I just wish I could take all that discomfort on myself.
The only chronic illness we have to deal with is psoriasis on Joshua. My brother got it when he was seventeen, after a steroid shot triggered it. My mom got it after getting a steroid shot for her arthritis. And guess what they gave me when I lost my hearing a month before Joshua was born? I didn't get the psoriasis...I have my dad's darker complection. But my fair-haired Josh was born with it.
My mom has psoriatic arthritis that bent her fingers backward. My brother is completely covered in it, face and everything...has to explain to his co-workers what it is. He's done chemo and everything. I pray over Josh all the time about it...usually when I'm slathering him with lotion in the winter. It goes away in the summer.
