That's the only way I could do it. And Quicktime was made for the Mac. Try it.

It still didn't work. Said I didn't have the right compressor...whatever that means. What OS version are you using? It just gives me a white screen but the sound is great.
To: carton253
Oh and I'm using QT 4.1.2 Should I upgrade?
To: Penny1
Yayy, it worked, it worked! :) So glad you got to see it! I downloaded it last night, and really enjoyed it, but it seems a little too dark (I used the version on Imladris.net). Can anyone who has seen the trailer on the internet and in the theatre say if the theatre version is equally dark?
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
The one on the internet that I have flickers a lot, so I think the darkness is from the camera-flicker. The preview in the theater is quite dark in that there are a lot of "dark" scenes, but it's certainly much, much better than the internet version.
The theater version places quite a dramatic emphasis on contrasting light and dark, with lightening flashing at Helm's deep and the dark of the forest contrasted with the brightness of Gandalf's appearance. Much of that gets lost in the translation to the 'net. Anyone who can see it in the theater really should if possible, just because it's a much better viewing experience....

No actually, LCS, some of us commented on how rich the colors were in Legolas's eyes in the Gandalf sneaking-up scene, and elsewhere.
Is your version the audience video tape? (the video tape "blinks") or the small-screen short version? The video taped version that I have is dark, due the the way it was done through a digicam, and the colors don't come through as well as they did in "real life"

I think I have your version HOTD. It is dark and doesn't flicker. I will be seeing the movie in the next 2 days, and think that the internet version will be useful mainly as a reminder of the theater version, which will be triggered mentally by the one on my PC!
Shouldn't you two be getting mentally prepared for your trip to Cinerama?
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Even though I can't see the preview, I can hear it and it reminds me of what I saw in the theater. I love even just listening to it!
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla;Penny1
Yes, I am thinking! It will probably be the last time I see it in the theater. The Cinerama is a good place to go for that! Party at Penny's theater!

Party at Penny's theater! I love the sound of that! ;)

Well, much to my complete delight, I was able to download Penny's version and actually view it! Apparently, I just needed to update my QT version to 5! It took forever (almost an hour) but is really very good!

Well, you are in business then! Are you still gonna buy a real new computer this weekend? ;~D
To: HairOfTheDog, JenB
I found a new one.:)

AND...............
I'm glad my plans to see the movie again last weekend fell through because I talked to someone who JUST saw it, and the TT trailer is DEFINITELY here now. So I will for sure get to see it.:)
To: MozartLover
Great that you are going to see it! - I
may go this weekend if my dad really follows through with wanting to go... (may have been a moment of madness when he said he wanted to)
I am fairly sure I will see it Tuesday with Penny, then that's it! End of an era. HairOfThe dog leaves the theater, not to return until December 18, when the whole cycle starts again ;~D

Wakes up! Wakes up! Sleepyheads! Are we well rested?
What a great country. I just finished watching the preview again. I do have to admit that Gollum is very threatening in the scene. Obviously that is his precious self talking there. Can't wait to hear what his Smeagol self sounds like.
Love the whole Theoden sequence. Wormtongue looks like a democrat (ha!).
Helm's Deep looks like it will be an epic battle.
Lot's of Aragorn. That works for me.
My favorite part is Pippin hanging on to Treebeard. What a perfect introduction of that character!
When Faramir crosses the screen, he looks like a younger version of Boromir. That is excellent casting. In fact, the Oscars need to have a category for casting. Lord of the Rings triumphs because Jackson has done a fantastic job casting it.
I am going to see it tomorrow afternoon. I cannot wait!
To: carton253
LOL! You sound just like we did a week ago tonight! Several of us were quite excited! Some of us could barely breathe and our hands shook...
Good morning everyone!
To: 2Jedismom
Well, I was halt between two decisions last week. Should I go and risk od'ing of the movie to see the preview or wait. I thought by seeing it on the computer that would satisify my desire... it just intensified it. And I'm ready to see the movie again. It's been about a month.
To: carton253
I am awake! - Now. I could hear you I guess... and woke up.
It is a great country isn't it? I shall watch the trailer again while I sip my coffees.
To: HairOfTheDog
Finally got the trailer to download (from Imladris.net link) but it's so dark. I guess some people are never satisfied! LOL
