HA!
That's about my opinion, too!
It's like that with my in-laws. She doesn't drive and he has no business driving. They live about three hours away and we're in the "discussion" process of what's going to happen to them. They've survived just about every disease known to man, and they're still plugging.
My wife and her sister live here in Richmond. Two more sisters and a brother live in Greensboro about three hours away. The latest solution is that we'll be remodling our garage into an apartment for them. (we bought the house with that in mind). But I don't think we'll ever really get there because one more accident (he's had three in the last two years) and they'll take his license (which they already should have). Plus, one more incident like him dropping scalding water down his front when he was trying to defrost the freezer (of couse the NC siblings say they help them "all the time") and he'll be bedfast.
It irks us here that the do-nothing siblings in North Carolina are so intent on Mom and Dad staying in their house. They either need to move in with us or move to an assisted living situation.
But like that couple with the tractor accident, many in that generation just won't give up and they'll keep doing things as long as they think they can.
Me? I'd take the rocking chair tomorrow...
That's the first I've heard of it. He's a "headliner" at the Nickelodeon show at King's Dominion (near us) and all the stores have SpongeBob merchandise...My guess is he's making them too much money.
I'm almost done organizing my room, I put up almost all my Tolkienish artwork. My Frodo poster is a little mussed and I have to press it out, so it's under the bed with heavy books on it.
Have I told you SpongeBob is evil? Bring back Animaniacs!
I'm partial to The Tick myself...
Oh, hi!
BBFC OKs Extended FOTR DVD
7/21/02, 2:03 pm EST - Xoanon
Richard writes: UK Ringers rejoice! BBFC have passed the extended FOTR uncut with the same PG certificate as the theatrical version and with a running time of just over 218m. This is more than the quoted 30 minutes of extra footage - but this may be due to the PAL format. [More]
Cool news!
From Whatis.com:
Phase Alternation Line (PAL) is the analog television display standard that is used in Europe and certain other parts of the world. PAL is one of the three major TV standards together with the American National Television Systems Committee (NTSC) color television system and the French Sequential Couleur avec Memoire (SECAM). NTSC is also used in Japan. SECAM is used in countries of the former Soviet Union.
Like SECAM, PAL scans the cathode ray tube (CRT) horizontally 625 times to form the video image. NTSC scans 525 lines. Color definitions between the systems vary slightly.
I had to stop looking up Tick quotes to find that...
I've just learned that highlighting in the Opera browser doesn't reveal the secret magic invisible font. Hmmm.
I like your evil plot, by the way!
Sounds like a good idea to me. I thought JHoffa was under Giant Stadium.
My Mom always thought he was dumped in a swamp in Upper Michigan.
