Are all those names in your ancestry Scottish or Celtic?I have no idea! That is just a small smattering of names in my geneology.
I had one grandfather way back somewhere here in Oklahoma that was a kind of rough guy...got his throat cut in a bar fight and tied it up with a bandana and just went about his business. Road his horse into an indian church and the pastor's daughter jumped on and off they rode and got married. (She had been previously quoted as saying "That's my man, if I never git him!") My grandmother told me about going to his funeral and still seeing the white scar on his neck.
I am the proverbial Hines 57!

Has anybody here ever seen
The Cider House Rules? I watched it last night with my wife. First of all I would say that , due to a couple of scenes, the PG-13 rating was very misleading.
The movie struck me as being a propaganda vehicle for the abortion industry. I should have known since it actually WON a couple of Oscars. I was disappointed because it had the kernel of a good story in it.

Good Afternoon everyone! Missed talking with everyone.
Penny, are you there... there... there?
To: Overtaxed
Afternoon! Lovely day here, although any day when I only work on job is that. But I did spend two hours with my brothers at their music lesson - fortunately lessening the pain by bringing along a very funny novel to read (
Retief Unbound, by Keith Laumer. Favorite quote: "'Mine is not to reason why, mine is but to shoot the guy.' 'You can't condemn me to death based on a literary allusion - and a mangled one at that!'" Also has a great toast at the end: "To our friends, the good guys, and to our enemies, the bad guys. May we someday be able to tell them apart.")
I absolutely adore that sort of classic sci-fi, out of print and with incredibly bad cover art and incredibly fun stories...

Emailing you some attachments...so you won't worry.
To: 2Jedismom
Worry? Moi? :)
To: JenB
Sounds like you had more fun today than I did. Soil samples get heavy after a while!
To: Overtaxed
Yes - only six hours of work today! I am lazy and I feel like it. I had such trouble rolling out of bed this morning after getting home so late last night but I'm rested now.

Oh
Going off with new friends....leaving poor Smeagol all alone
Let's start a new page for 2JM!
To: Overtaxed
Thank you!
Matthew and I just finished a game of chess. He beat me soundly.
To: 2Jedismom
Were you playing on a LOTR chess set? Did you let him win?
To: Overtaxed
Nope, just on his standard set. It's vinyl and rolls up.
I gave him some pointers, but ulimately, he got my queen when I didn't expect it and that was my downfall.
To: 2Jedismom
er...ultimately?
To: 2Jedismom
Doh! Galadriel bites the dust! Or was Matthew playing white?
To: 2Jedismom
I haven't played chess in about two years, but I have such fond memories of the game....
Off to take my brothers to reading night. I'll be back later as long as sibs don't use the nic card...

Hi everyone...
Have had a very long, tiring, and frustrating day here. I'm glad this job only lasts 2 more weeks, because this place is a madhouse.
Almost enough to make me ask for a pint....
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Did someone ask for a pint?
To: Overtaxed
hmm, tempting... very very tempting...
