I wish someone had taken a hose to me after I mowed! LOL It was so hot, before the storm got here. Probably low 90s. And humid and oppressive, you know...right before a storm. These huge black clouds were swelling up to the north and I was out there pushing the mower as fast as I could!
I just took a nice shower, though...used my Moonlight Path from Bath and Bodyworks.

Hi everyone...
No rain here today, although we had a brief thundershower yesterday.
Hair, the most miserable 2 summer weeks I've spent recently was in Upper Michigan... no one has AC up there either. It only gets hot for a few weeks up there, but I just can't take 85 degrees and 100% humidity, without AC. Was a lot more comfortable here in Texas, even when it gets over 100 for a week, because everyone has AC.

I wish someone had taken a hose to me after I mowed! I bet if you said that to the kids, they could make it happen!
I wouldn't mind a thundershower... I have been out playing with the hose all afternoon. Feels good!

I'm thrilled it rained! There were parts of the lawn getting a little dry. I don't have to water for at least a couple of days! But the grass was getting deep...just too hot to mow. If I hadn't, I couldn't till it dried out. I just mowed the front yard though...not the side and certainly not the back where it's fenced in and no one can see!
Tomorrow is the last day of the tarp experiment, I think. I'll take it off if the grass underneath appears yellow.

Was a lot more comfortable here in Texas, even when it gets over 100 for a week, because everyone has ACYeah... I spent some summers in Phoenix working for my grandpa. Everyone wondered why I never came back with a tan. They don't understand that no one goes outside... dash from AC house to AC car to AC office, and don't go outside till after dark!
We will get maybe another day of this, supposed to be 85 tomorrow... then it will likely cloud over and make everyone comfortable again... Till the next little heat wave in a couple weeks.
August is our hottest and driest month... and Septembers are wonderful... Then prep for winter!

You know I grew up south of Houston? Whew! Talk about hot and humid! It was hot, but not as hot as here. 90's were common, but here it's nothing for it to be >100 degrees for long stretches at a time.
To: 2Jedismom
Yes, I've heard stories of the humidity in Houston and towards the coast! 90 and humid can be worse than 100 and dry...

It'll stay hot here most likely through September and October... then it will start cooling off. The most comfortable time here is January-February-March... highs in the 60s and 70s, lows in the 50s.

I ought to be watching the movie! No one home, boys are in bed. I could pop come corn!
Where's OT?
To: 2Jedismom
I could pop some corn even...I think I will.

Hey, a new page!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Woohooo!
It's so nice and quiet. The boys have been listening to the BBC version of LOTR. Matthew asked me to turn the tape over so they could listen some more, but there is not sound coming out of their room now. Must be asleep.
To: 2Jedismom
Did you start the movie? - hhhhmmmm, haven't watched it in awhile my self... (
like a whole week!
) Think I will start her up tonight when it gets cool!
To: HairOfTheDog
Naw, just sitting here reading the Breaking News. Thanks so much for showing me how to access it! It's just so quiet I decided to just enjoy it.
I did make my popcorn. I bought a great big ol' mongo vat of Crisco from Sam's the other day. I've got aproximately 47 more pounds of popcorn to go through...I needed the shortening! :)

Oh... You're welcome! I was on one of the relentless cop bashing threads tonight, but I am too hot to argue. Gonna go take one last look 'round, then maybe go stick some ice in my shirt and go lay down!
To: HairOfTheDog
Alright. I always say, it's better to live in a cooler climate, because you can always put more clothes on...but there's only so much you can take off! LOL
'Night Sis.

Pretty sleepy here, time for bed I think.
Good night all!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Night Bear...I'm going too. Going to lay down and read. The Nine Walkers has just been chosen.

Hi, guys. Thanks for the nice thoughts and suggestions. Tomorrow I start calling and asking for work. I now have goals - to get a good job, to make enough to take between 6 and 9 credits a semester, to make As in those classes, and to make enough extra that I can take my long-desired trip to England next summer. A plan is a good thing. I like having a destination; it gives me a reason to get up in the morning.
Anyway I'm tired and should go to bed, I guess...
