I know what it's supposed to sound like....the problem is getting the sound! Just hunt around for the right notes. :)

If I hadn't given up my piano too long ago I absolutely refused to play piano! Imagine me being contrary! :)
To: JenB; Overtaxed
I played trumpet, maybe we could form an odd band.

These days, I play the keyboard - but it's the computer kind, I'm afraid. I doubt I even remember the keys now.

Well, the last time I tried to pick up a horn didn't go to well either. We'll give the whistle players all the lead parts for now.

"By ear" people amaze me. :~DMe too! I have no musical talent at all but my sister can play piano, organ, accordian, clarinet, flute, etc. When she was only eleven years old she played piano and organ at the church we attended. She couldn't read music and didn't need to. She played beautifully.
**jealousy subsiding now**

Well, I was a mediocre trumpet player at best. Our band director had high hopes for me, following my brother who made "All State Band", "All NorthWest Band" and other accolades, but I think his ambitions for yet another star out of my family faded by the middle of my freshman year.... hehehe

Noticed you like to star gaze, something I'm considering, since I have a thought of moving to an area that has clear skies, at least in winter. Is there a way to mount a telescope to look both at stars and at objects at eye level?

OK, I saw Sam lookin at your profile, so I had to look! - You have some mighty cute smileys! I especially like this one...

Good morning everyone! Just a quick stop as I head out the door, on my way to run errands. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!
It's raining here, very unusual for central Texas in late June...

Good morning! - I have been up since the crack of dawn... thinkin about having some breakfast and then a Saturday nap!
To: Sam Cree
Thank you guys for your good wishes :-) You're welcome! I always like to celebrate other people's birthdays. :)

Just finished second breakfast here... have to make a run to the post office, bank, and utility office... then get back in time to let Rose have the car so she can go to her hair stylist appointment.
I'm off!

Is there a way to mount a telescope to look both at stars and at objects at eye level?I am not sure I know what you mean about eye level.
We used to live in San Jose which is right outside of San Francisco. We had a pool in our backyard and I used to float around at night on my back and noticed that you could only see a half dozen stars at best. Then we moved into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and a whole new world opened up to me. You can see zillions of stars on a dark night here!
My family is not as interested in the night sky as I am. They help me get my telescope set up and then tell me to come in and get them when I find something neat. LOL!

You have some mighty cute smileys! Thanks! I especially like this one showing how my hair looked when I got it done last week!

Perhaps by "eye level" he means, can he look at the stars and also use it to peep into the hot babe's window in the apartment across the street?

My kids love Hair's barfing icon.

For the kids! From the lady in the computer!
To: HairOfTheDog
LOL...they are outside washing the car (aka playing in the hose) with dad.

"I am not sure I know what you mean about eye level. Well, Hair is sort of right on that. If I move into the foothills of the Blue Ridge, as planned, I'd like to be able to track the stars, which are clear and plentiful when the north wind blows. But I'd also like to look accross the hills to spy out deer patterns.
Of course, if I bring the telescope to Florida, it can be used for checking out topless babes on boats that may be cruising out on the bay...
