-Broadcast News... :~D
I caught part of that, until 'Traffic' started on Showtime. I've also seen parts of 'Fat Man...' before... kind of interesting, but I wasn't sure how historically accurate it was. Sometimes History Channel will show a movie and then interview a historian to discuss how historically accurate the movie was, did they do that this time?
the actor who played Barkeley on Star Trek TNG playing Oppenheimer
That would be Dwight Schultz... according to his entry on IMDB he's been doing mostly voice work since ST: Voyager ended. Historical fact: he also played "Howling Mad" Murdock on 'The A-Team'.
Hmm, I'm gonna have to ponder that one for a while...
By the way, the smiley in #10469 is my new favorite.
Good morning!
Anatomy of a Murder was the first (and so far as I know, the only) major motion picture filmed in my beloved Upper Peninsula of Michigan (I do go on about it, don't I?) You can read an article about the film here.
Why not just drink the hard cider?
Lovely picture OT. I've never been to the mouintains region of the Carolinas. We usually skirt them on the west heading down South on I-81.
Someone mentioned 'The Long Hot Summer' on yesterday's comments. It was based on a compilation of several of William Faulkner's short stories. I remember seeing the version with Don Johnson, and seeing the arson scenes, remembered WF's short story, "Barn Buring". For a Mississippi girl, I am woefully ignorant of MS writers. We did not study them in high school or college to any extent. I read Faulkner's "The Bear" in a college English class, but don't remember reading any others. I'll just have to start reading more Faulker and Eudora Welty!
Kinda reminds me of the 'YIKES' guy!
He sort of represents the way I sometimes respond to some of life's little surprises...
"Barn BURNING", DOH! Proofread, girl!
My missus and I are planning to go to a movie this afternoon, not sure yet whether it will be Minority Report or Lilo and Stitch (the latest Disney movie). If we do go, it will be our 5th movie since December (two of those being LOTR:FOTR).
The funny thing is, I read it as "Barn Burning" in the original post... didn't realize you had mis-spelled it until your follow up. I guess my brain just decided "Burning" made more sense than "Buring" and filled in the missing 'n' without telling me.
I like to get the non-pasteurized cider and let it harden a bit! :)
I also like to make hot spiced cider. Mmmmmmm
I feel like I am slipping, but is it only the really good people who always think they're slipping
At least we're in good company...old Mr. Bilbo is cracked and Frodo's cracking, don't you know!
