Good morning everyone...Happy St Pattys Day....ah, to be sure, the leprechauns are playing tricks on us today....as I look outside, its a beautiful sight, a winter wonderland....it snowed for several hours last night, and its still cold enough this morning, that none of the snow has melted....and the sky is blue, and the sun is shining down on the snow, and its sparkling, as if the leprechauns left us all diamonds in the snow...
Palo, your hubby and mine seem to have the same heritag...my hubbys mom was Irish, her maiden name being Eileen Sheey, a good Irish name...her dad was an Irish cop on the beat in Chicago...
My hubbys dad is from Sicily, not Italy proper, but rather from a little fishing village in the south of Sicily....
The hubby usually refers to himself as Sicilian for most of the year, I guess because he looks Sicilian, spoke Sicilian as his first language, and barely knew his moms family...
However, on St Pats day, he leans more toward his Irish side...he usually spends the afternoon and evening, at a great Irish Pub, called Oblarneys, where he samples the ales, and enjoys the Bagpipers, who always make their way to OBlarneys for a night of fun and music...I dont go with, as I just dont enjoy big crowds, and to be sure, OBlarneys is jammed to the rafters on St Pattys Day...
But the hubby bought a large selection of Irish brews yesterday, and they are all being chilled down, so I expect to be hitting the sauce rather soon today....I would also expect that by later this evening both myself and the hubby will be sloshed....Ah, tis a great day to be Irish..

Good morning, Chrissy! What a sweet little gif (and you know I love kitties). I hope you are well. How's things?
Hubby talked me into buy a new television yesterday. We've been using the one I bought in 1983 - a 19", still worked just fine, but it was time to upgrade. We set it up last night, hooked up all the peripherals (DVD, VCR, large stereo speakers). What a treat! We bought a 27" flat screen. What a change!

I checked back on that thread you linked to in your post #681...I had seen that thread earlier, and went back to it after you mentioned it...I noticed that many of the replies were deleted by the admin. moderator....it does not surprise me at all, some of those replies were really not in keeping with the spirit and rules of FR
at least most of the deleted posts of the first 100 replies were all posted by a L.com refugee...so yes, indeed, it was interesting for me to see that thread, 'before' and 'after' those posts were deleted..

Thank you Oki I am glad you enjoy the links. The Astronomy pictures are really beautiful and I particularly liked this one and had it as my wallpaper for some time.

I don't want to meet whoever dropped this... ;>DLooks like a booby trap to me...
To: acnielsen guy
Funny you should say that because with each photo I looked at, I'd think "THIS will be my wallpaper". Io is spectacular. So perfect in symmetry, proportion, color and placement, you'd think it HAS to be a computer-generated image. But nothing is quite so perfect as nature.
And looking in on the universe puts everything in perspective. The majesty and vastness of the far reaches, and the timelessness of the perfect movements of each and every 'rock' out there - all I can say is WOW. (Whatever gave you the idea I was enjoying what you handed us??? ROFLOL!)

The Air Force recently (just a few years ago) did a new cover up bout Roswell (the UFO crash there in '47)
they are now claimin' it was weather balloons
they will never release Project Bluebook
which is a record of all the investigations of UFOs and ETs till they shut it down
The Air Force officers assigned to these investigations were not allowed to speak publicly
however they are now retired, work for MUFON continuing their investigations
and freely share their info with the public
I first became open-minded on topic of UFOs soon after I moved to Tucson
it was listening to the retired Air Force officers on the radio here in Tucson, which convinced me
