Trump cancels midterm rallies in Kansas, Iowa
The Hill ^ | October 28, 2026 | Sarah Davis

Posted on 10/29/2026 8:48:08 PM PDT by Miami Rebel

President Trump will no longer travel to Kansas or Iowa over the weekend to rally voters ahead of Election Day, instead opting for virtual campaign appearances. A White House official confirmed to The Hill Thursday the in-person Kansas event had been canceled, without providing more details about the decision. Later in the evening, the Republican National Committee (RNC) announced the cancellation of another Trump campaign rally in Iowa.

“President Trump will continue connecting directly with Americans nationwide through more than 20 telerallies before Election Day,” the White House official said in a statement. “These events give him the opportunity to highlight his accomplishments and expand his reach across the country.”

The RNC said Trump will instead appear virtually in Iowa, attributing both changes to Republican candidates’ “strong position” in both states. The president is instead expected to hold nearly 20 telerallies in states like Texas, Kansas, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Montana and South Carolina before Nov. 3. In a statement, RNC Chairman Joe Gruters said, “Voters across the country want to hear from President Trump before Election Day, and this 72-hour sprint will be a huge boost in the closing days.” “The demand for POTUS [president of the United States] to hold rallies has been huge from our candidates, and we are adjusting to a tele-rally to maximize his reach and communicate with as many voters as possible,” a GOP source told The Hill on the scuttled Kansas event now being held virtually.

The Kansas campaign rally was set to take place at Salina Regional Airport on Saturday, and it would have marked the president’s second visit to the Sunflower State this election cycle. During an Oct. 19 rally in Park City, Kan., Trump campaigned for Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) as he faces a tough reelection battle against Democratic challenger Adam Hamilton. The incumbent trailed behind Hamilton by 4 points in a CNN/SSRS poll released Thursday. A New York Times/Siena survey conducted last month found the two candidates tied up with 45 percent support each.

Several Republicans in battleground states have sought to distance themselves from the president and his waning public approval ratings amid rising fuel costs tied to the Iran war. A Reuters/Ipsos survey released Monday found Trump’s approval rating sitting at around 32 percent, up 1 point from a record low the week before. The GOP has ramped up efforts to boost voter turnout within its base in recent weeks, after polling has indicated an enthusiasm gap between Democratic and Republican voters headed into Nov. 3.

Several Senate Republicans have also vocalized concerns that the president’s presence in key states is endangering vulnerable GOP candidates’ path to victory.

I haven’t even watched all of them, in between my regular job, chores, other things you have to do, etc. I barely have enough time to watch all of them, let alone do what other things he has to do. It personally doesn’t make sense in certain situations to do them remotely.

God doesn’t care who wins elections.

LOL! You gotta love any human being who declares that God doesn't this or God does that. And then we have the "God works in mysterious ways" fall-back crowd who when confronted by raw evidence, that's all they got. The fact is that God does NOT INTERFERE in the affairs of man. Period!

Yours is such a ridiculous statement as to be laughable.

You presume to know exactly what God does and does not do.

If God never interferes in the affairs of humans, why would we be urged to pray for anything at all?

“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, NIV / KJV).

You have no idea what you are talking about and you should never arrogantly tell another person God will not answer heartfelt prayers. IS GOD TOO BUSY to to help a weeping believer?

We live in both a physical world AND a spiritual world regardless of what YOU dare to deny.

You cannot lock Almighty God in a box created in your limited, faithless mind.

He allows or establishes all authorities for a season to serve His ultimate will.

That’s absolutely false. Romans 13:1, which states that “there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God,”

The left is presenting this as “the GOP has given up on Kansas”. That’s such b.s.

They are up to something (again).

I’m curious about all the polls and articles with the narrative that the Democrats are destined to win the House and the Senate. Is the left trying to convince their voters that their win is a sure thing in order to make them believe anything different is due to fraud?

Will we see major riots (mostly paid actors) if their predictions do not come true? Are they hoping to push Trump into “doing something” in response so they can then accuse him of being a dictator and push the “moderate” Republicans to agree to an impeachment? Will the left insist that there is really no such thing as “the securest election ever” after all? I’m just wondering. I know they are up to something.

If you read the New Testament, you know that the Lord cares about things much less important, like whether a tiny bird's time to die has come, or how many hairs are on each person's head.

PS mine are decreasing in number.

One can not know what the purpose of these horrible elected officials is, except surmise that they are a chastisment for all the evil mankind has done in the past 80 years or so.

Yes, the vain, ignorant, corrupted, lying, pervs who keep getting elected to national office in the US are just a little hint that we need to get back on track as a culture.

If that is the case, then we haven't gotten the worst of it yet, IMHO.

But there is always 2 Chronicles 7:14. Reform and renewal are actually happening, if you turn off the cable and internet and go out there and talk to people.

Talking to the Almighty about this election, in great numbers, will help us.

But remember, Reagan at this time in his first term was still foundering. Being blamed for inflation that he didn't cause and everything else under the sun. Ridiculed and hated for his supply-side theories and tax cuts even by his own VP the horrible GHWB. And the GOP lost 26 seats in the house.

Then, as will probably happen now, right after the election, all the changes instituted by the POTUS came to fruition and the economy soared for 30 years or more!

Listen to DJT at a rally when he lists a litany of improvements he has accomplished (which no one else would have accomplished!) and let it sink in. Real progress is being made and will NOT be ignored.

But persistence after a setback in the House can be overcome. Reagan did, even though he had to fight "gridlock" after the midterms. He still kept right on going.

And so will DJT and his great team.

The momentum is ours and it is huge.
