I’m NOT disagreeing with you, just clarifying your speech.
It’s called BRANDING...you take a branding iron, heat it in a propane branding iron oven and brand a cow/steer/bull with your state recognized/registered brand.
Take it for this Montanan, branding is the correct word and just a few names would suffice!
