Wow. His sarcasm over the years has been so biting and so often spot on - but I honestly can’t tell if this is sarcasm or serious. I think it’s a jump ball.

He is helping “normal” democrats separate themselves from the communists by mocking the DSA because he can see the problem with voters linking them together and conflating their ideologies.

I think he’s trying to be funny but this isn’t funny. The Larry David from 20 years ago would have written something a lot more misanthropic and a lot more funny. This reads like a Dave Barry column.

I’m not a Larry David fan, myself.

Now, if he wants to send himself to Pitcairn Island, I say OK, go for it.

it’s obvious satire ... and to me, indicates larry might not be a full-on hard-leftist anymore ...

It must be satire. There isn't enough room on Pitcairn Island for all of the Bagel People.

Pitcairn Island is named for Robert Pitcairn, the first person to sight the island. Robert's father, Major John Pitcairn, led the British Regulars into Lexington on the morning of April 19, 1775, and was mortally wounded in the battle of Bunker Hill. Robert Pitcairn had been lost at sea in 1770.
